that is gradually optimized for user’s body shape,
interacting sensibly and physically between each other.

Material : EPS(Expandable Polystyrene)

Inspiration
Styrofoam has the property that deforms accordingly
when subjected to more than a certain amount of force and pressure.
Physical taming study
In this process, an overall research was conducted
on the size and shape of patterns with choosing type of materials
optimized to allow chair to be dramatically influenced and transformed when person sits on a chair.
Manufacturing
Tamable Chair was manufactured by processing EPS(Expandable Polystyrene)
with CNC Equipment for detailed implementation of the patterns.
Taming point
The user's sitting position determines the taming point by back, seat, and leg.
Ergonomic deformation
The shapes of the seat and the backrest become more
suitable and comfortable for the human body as they are used.
Before & After Taming
In the early stages of using, the users may feel unfamiliar
when they sit on the chair, but the more they use it,
the more chair becomes tamed and optimized.
Physical & Sensuous Interaction
Physical marks are intuitively visible and users can feel the changes sensibly in the taming process.
